Deducting education costs from your taxes in Switzerland
You can deduct self-funded, career-oriented education in your tax return. For direct federal tax, it is up to CHF 13'000 per year, and the cantons have their own maximum amounts. The program prices are therefore fully within the federal deduction.
Examples based on the introductory, alumni and partner price
AI Business Fluency (xMBA)CHF 8'990at a 30 % marginal tax rate, around CHF 2'700 lower taxes
AI Business Leadership (EMBA)CHF 9'990at a 30 % marginal tax rate, around CHF 3'000 lower taxes
Sample calculation without guarantee. The actual saving depends on income, canton of residence and marital status. Only what you pay yourself is deductible; contributions from your employer or the federal government reduce the deduction. Your tax office or tax advisor can help with your situation.
